Yes. Air Tags can be tagged in the sky or on the ground. The height of the Air Tags depend on the direction your iPhone is pointing when you post your Air Tags, or in the case of Air Photos, the direction of your iPhone when you took the picture.
What will happen to comments I made to an Air Tag when it has been deleted?

If an Air Tag is deleted, all the comments to that Air Tag will be deleted as well.
I want to delete an Air Tag that I posted somewhere far away. Can I do this even when I am not at that location?

An Air Tag you posted can be deleted from the Air Tag details screen, but once you are away from the location where you posted it, you will not be able to do this. To prepare for such cases, we recommend that you save your Air Tags in your pocket, and you will be able to find and delete it later.
Also, Air Tags can be deleted from your history or Sekai Life’s timeline. However, please note that the Air Tags displayed on Sekai Life are shown only for a limited period. *Currently works from Sekai Camera for iPhone only.
